Finding Wichita’s Most Instagram-Worthy Cup of Coffee

You Won’t Believe What We Found!

If you’re new to the area, you may not initially think of Kansas as a Mecca for coffee connoisseurs, but you will be happily surprised to know that Wichita has some of the most quaint cafes and trendy coffee shops in the state. Even acclaimed Chef Alton Brown has declared his love for Wichita coffee, claiming it is one of his favorite coffee towns in the United States! At Campus Wichita, we help match college-aged students with internship opportunities, network with other students and professionals, as well as explore and experience this awesome city we call home. With the constant rigor of young professional life, we understand that coffee is not a want, but a need, which is why we have set out to uncover Wichita’s most Instagram-worthy cup of coffee. Check out our findings below!

There is nothing more groovy than a good cup of coffee, especially when paired with a prime downtown location and a killer menu! Espresso To Go Go is located in downtown Wichita and is where coffee junkies go to thrive. If you’re feeling brave, order the Syd Vicious—carmelized raw sugar, a splash of cream, and seven shots of espresso served over ice!

2. Reverie Roasters

If you haven’t yet visited Reverie Roasters at their Douglas Design District location, you have likely tasted their coffee! This local chain supplies its coffee to several other shops in the area and offers an extensive list of beverages. The next time you visit, don’t forget to enjoy the building’s swanky, industrial atmosphere, perfect for a “gram-worthy” post!

3. Il Primo Espresso Cafe

While many would argue Il Primo Espresso Cafe to be the best coffee house in town, there’s absolutely no denying that it is the oldest! This Wichita staple was the first coffee house established in the city in 1882 and now specializes in exquisite caffeinated drinks. If you find yourself near the Normandie Shopping Center, stop in to peruse their extensive menu.

4. Leslie Coffee Company

At Leslie Coffee Company, you may come for the coffee, but you are sure to stay for the relaxing and inviting atmosphere. Order your favorite cold or warm beverage, and enjoy the natural sunlight and indoor plants that line the cafe! Did we mention they were recently named the best coffee shop in Kansas by Food & Wine Magazine?

As a small batch bakery in the heart of the Delano District, Milkfloat offers a variety of craft coffee and beverages, in addition to decadent ice cream flavors and outside-the-box baked goods. And that’s not even the best part—this locally-owned establishment has its menu on a continual rotation of seasonal, fresh, and exciting flavors!

6. Fairmount Coffee Co.

Just south of Wichita State University on 17th Street, Fairmount Coffee Co. offers an array of fresh baked goods, made-to-order breakfast items, and of course, gourmet coffees. Stop by on the weekend to catch live music and enjoy open mic nights!
